Regarding 'because it is the cause of transcending impure birthplaces': the three bad destinies and the eight conditions lacking leisure are called impure birthplaces; the two pure karmas are called the cause of transcending them. The three muni karmas are the three wholesome karmas. In 'three dharmas for eliminating improper thoughts': regarding 'due to others' reproach... up to the shame and respect generated': towards others' reproach one generates embarrassment, feeling shame with regard to others; towards one's own reproach one generates moral shame, feeling shame with regard to oneself. Losing great benefit and deeply understanding causes and conditions, one generates double shame and faith, which is called love and respect; thus having no love and respect for the Three Jewels is called losing great benefit. Or alternatively, one can generate all three at each of the three places, without needing to match them individually.
