基云：其師能依止謂藥威勢此非現量，威勢所依色香味觸，任運纔取，便是所威勢之所依止，此為現境，能取之者名為現量。

Ji says: The master explains that the "dependent basis" refers to the power of the medicine, which is not direct perception. The basis of that power is visible matter, smell, taste, and tangibility; spontaneously, the moment they are apprehended, they are the foundational basis of that power. This is the present object, and the mind that can apprehend it is called direct perception.
