杜多功德者，即舊頭陀也，即少欲知足離著之義，此翻名為除棄亦名抖擻，遠離眷屬貪欲即發露惡也，因貪欲生故名眷屬。

'Dhūta-qualities' are what were formerly termed dhūta, meaning few desires, contentment, and freedom from attachment. Here it is translated as 'casting aside' and also as 'shaking off.' 'Remaining far removed from the craving of retinue' refers to exposing evil, which is called 'retinue' because it arises based on craving.
