Regarding the nyagrodha tree: this tree originally grows from a single seed; later its branches grow large and bend downwards into the ground, naturally giving rise to crowds of living beings; moreover, birds eat the seeds of the tree and drop them into the forks of trees, where they give rise to multiple trees whose roots depend on the tree forks. In this manner, continuing on and on, from an original single tree multiple trees are born. Water is called the shared condition; thus, craving, hostility, and so forth all have moistening craving as their shared condition, and their respective seeds as their distinct conditions.
