景基同釋：依西方俗間所說，唯五印度名為中國，餘皆邊地，佛法所傳唯中印度名為中國，餘名邊地。景公復云：蔑戾車者，名樂垢穢，突厥等。達須是下賤類，即說此葱嶺已東諸國是也。

Jing and Ji explain alike: According to the common worldly conventions of the Western Regions, only the five Indias are called the central land, and all the rest are borderlands; in terms of the transmission of the Buddha's Dharma, only Central India is called the central land, and the rest are called borderlands. Venerable Jing also says: "Mleccha means 'delighting in defilement and impurity,' such as the Turks (Tujue) and others. Dasyu refers to base and lowly classes, which refers to the various countries east of the Pamir Mountains (Congling)."
