In the third gate, a sūtra is cited as proof: if one has superior worldly right view, even though passing through a thousand lifetimes, one will not fall into bad destinies. For a person abiding in the gotra, temporarily arousing the mind to set out and enter immediately obtains the cessation not through deliberation regarding the bad destinies; in this position, they sometimes obtain it and sometimes do not. If they reach the position of acceptance, they definitively obtain it; if they have entered the superior position of acceptance, [the defilements] are severed, and proceeding toward achievement they are not born into conditions lacking leisure or other bad destinies.
