6.239

言色色者，五識緣色體，意識緣色法，謂緣彼色上生住異滅是色家假四相法名為色法，亦由如是念增上力能防護此尋求決定分別意識，令生染淨位淨識，不生煩惱。

Regarding "forms and dharmas": the five consciousnesses take the substance of form as their object; the mental consciousness takes the dharmas of form as its object, meaning it takes the arising, abiding, change, and cessation of that form—the four nominal characteristics of form—as its object, which are called the dharmas of form. Also, by such sovereign power of mindfulness, one is able to protect this discriminative mental consciousness of seeking and determining, causing a pure consciousness to arise in the defiled or pure state without giving rise to afflictions.
