基云：此中意明菩薩用前有情數物，施時必須所用施之情歡喜方用之施，非是彼生嫌恨菩薩欲得自意所許即用之施。

Ji says: The intention here clarifies that when a bodhisattva gives the aforementioned sentient possessions, at the time of giving, the sentient beings so used must be joyful before they can be given; it is not that they give them away while those beings harbor resentment merely because the bodhisattva wishes to satisfy his own intention.
