嗢怛羅僧伽者亦有上被義，謂在寺內即被七條，在五條上，具足應言嗢怛羅僧伽婆參，婆參名衣。
*Uttarāsaṅga* also has the meaning of 'worn on top': when inside the monastery, one wears the seven-strip robe over the five-strip robe; fully stated, it should be *uttarāsaṅga-vāsana*, *vāsana* meaning robe.
