泰師云：若緣現在屍無識身色即名為外，此現在屍於過去未死時有識性，今雖無識是前有識色相似平等不異即名為內，若緣現在未死有識身色即名為內，此色當來必死無識即名為外，例前可解。

Master Tai says: If one takes as an object the form of a present corpse devoid of consciousness, it is called external; this present corpse, in the past before death, had the nature of being endowed with consciousness; though now devoid of consciousness, it is similar, equal, and not distinct from the former conscious form, and thus is called internal. If one takes as an object the form of a present undead body endowed with consciousness, it is called internal; this form in the future will certainly die and be devoid of consciousness, and thus is called external. By analogy with the previous, it can be understood.
