若已永斷能滅還來生煩惱至立不還果者，後三品惑若不永斷則還生欲界，今已永斷不復還生，唯於色無色界天有受生。基公復云：唯於天有當可受生者，其一間人在天上，於人中受一有不還更生天上名不還。此中據人中作法，此從果為名因時未名不還故。

Regarding "if one has perpetually abandoned the afflictions capable of bringing about rebirth by returning, up to establishing the fruit of non-returner": if the afflictions of the last three grades are not perpetually abandoned, one would return to be reborn in the desire realm; now that they have been perpetually abandoned, one will never again return to be reborn [there], but will only take rebirth in the heavenly existences of the form and formless realms. Master Ji also said: regarding "they will only take rebirth in heavenly existences", a person with one interval who is in heaven and takes a single existence among humans without returning to be reborn again in heaven is called a non-returner. Here it is formulated based on [attainment] among humans; this takes its name from the fruit, because at the causal stage one was not yet called a non-returner.
