二、解最初得清淨，謂善淨戒及正直見者，戒是離過之初基，正見即是攝善之元首，故說善戒正見最初清淨。十因戒淨，如前二十八說：十順學法：一者、離母邑等。正直見，開四句釋。

Second, explaining "initially obtaining purity, which means well-purified morality and straightforward views": morality is the initial basis for leaving faults, and right view is the foremost lead in gathering goodness; hence it is said that good morality and right view are initially pure. The ten causes for the purification of morality are as stated previously in the twenty-eighth [fascicle]: the ten dharmas conforming to training: first, staying away from women, and so forth. Straightforward views are explained by expanding into four phrases.
