復於當來諸苦種子，能攝受故，次第招引諸苦集故，說名為緣者，景云：此愛非直能引現起之苦及當起苦，復能招引當來識等苦種令其增長故說為緣。基云：即愛既於當來苦種能攝受熏增故，能令未來生等苦次第生起諸苦集生說名為緣。

Regarding "Furthermore, because it can appropriate future seeds of suffering and sequentially induce the accumulations of suffering, it is called 'condition'": Jing says: "This craving does not merely induce suffering that actively arises in the present and suffering that will arise in the future; it can further induce future seeds of suffering such as consciousness and cause them to increase; therefore, it is called 'condition.'" Ji says: "Because craving can appropriate, perfume, and increase future seeds of suffering, it can cause the sequential arising of future suffering such as birth and the origination of accumulations of suffering; hence it is called 'condition.'"
