基云：此中意由五停總別念處作是四諦行故，即是後無漏類智種子依處，一有漏為緣能引無漏故名種子依處即新熏義，二即五停時亦能熏增無始無漏種，此種居五停位中亦名了相作意位收，能辨生初見道法類智故，名法類智種子依處。

Ji says: "The intention here is that, because the fivefold mental stabilization and the general and specific applications of mindfulness perform these aspects of the four truths, they are the basis for the subsequent taintless seeds of subsequent knowledge. First, because the tainted serves as a condition that can induce the taintless, it is called the basis for the seeds—this is the meaning of new perfuming. Second, during the fivefold mental stabilization, one can also perfume and increase the beginningless taintless seeds; these seeds, abiding in the stage of the fivefold mental stabilization, are also subsumed under the stage of the attention of discerning characteristics. Because they can produce the knowledge of dharmas and subsequent knowledge of the initial path of seeing, they are called the basis for the seeds of the knowledge of dharmas and subsequent knowledge."
