若依護法，性種彼資流類增多，但名性種，現行無漏別熏成種性，故名習種，噵謂先串習善根所得。

According to Dharmapāla, when the natural gotra is assisted by them and its kind multiplies, it is still called only the natural gotra; when active taintless dharmas separately perfume and form the gotra nature, it is therefore called the cultivated gotra. It says that it is obtained from wholesome roots previously habituated.
