From "in the present dharma" onwards, it clarifies that the subtle deeds previously performed by the bodhisattva in the present dharma serve as expedients, whether many or few, so that from beginningless time none are forgotten or lost. Regarding "Furthermore, being able to follow in memory the unhindered moments in orderly succession of what was done, because there is no interruption," Jing says: This means searching backwards from old age; whether physical forms or mental states, moment by moment without interval and in succession, all are known, and one is also able to know the moments and instants of past kalpas. This wisdom of a single thought-moment of buddhas and bodhisattvas can know the immeasurable moments of this world and other worlds, unlike the two vehicles who, searching backwards through the moments of this body, do not know their previous lives before dying. Tai and Ji share this interpretation.
