忍度第四相中，云無多怨敵，謂無怨憎會，無多離隔，謂無愛別離，無多憂苦，謂無因怨會親離所生憂苦。舊論云：現無別離亦無憂苦，憂苦唯於別離生故，合為二怨會親離，今分為三。

In the fourth characteristic of the perfection of patience, "without many enemies" means being without meeting with what is hateful; "without much separation" means being without parting from what is loved; "without much sorrow and suffering" means being without the sorrow and suffering arisen from meeting enemies and parting from loved ones. The older treatise says: "currently being without separation and also without sorrow and suffering, because sorrow and suffering arise solely from separation"; it combined them into two: meeting enemies and parting from loved ones. Now it is divided into three.
