第三、宗緒。《釋論》下云：又十七地具攝一切文義略盡，後之四分皆為解釋十七地中諸要文義，故亦不離瑜伽師地。由是此論用十七地以為宗要。宗是所主、所尊、所崇、所重義故。

Third, the fundamental tenets. The Vibhāṣā below states: Furthermore, the seventeen bhūmis fully subsume all texts and meanings in brief; the subsequent four divisions are all to explain the various essential texts and meanings in the seventeen bhūmis, and therefore they also do not depart from the bhūmis of the yogācāra. Therefore, this treatise takes the seventeen bhūmis as its main tenets. This is because tenet has the meaning of what is primary, what is revered, what is exalted, and what is valued.
