10.25

論云「十隨煩惱」者，即下十種多字是也。其間憂苦、惡行等是隨煩惱者，以隨他煩惱生故，名隨煩惱，非體是煩惱。又以多為名，名隨煩惱，體非是也。在隨煩惱門收，名隨煩惱。

The treatise says: "Ten secondary afflictions," which refers to the ten instances of the word "many" (多) below. That grief and distress, bad actions, and so on are included among them as secondary afflictions is because they arise subsequent to other afflictions; hence they are named secondary afflictions, not that their essence is affliction. Moreover, they are named secondary afflictions on account of their frequency, but their essence is not so. Being gathered under the category of secondary afflictions, they are named secondary afflictions.
