The treatise states: "Such dharmas do not have an intrinsic nature as spoken of in words, nor are they entirely nonexistent." As previously grasped, dharmas lacking intrinsic nature as spoken of in words do not exist as imagined; yet as names are nominally posited based on other-dependent erroneous dharmas, these dharmas are also not entirely nonexistent, for it is impossible that other-dependent nature and so forth do not exist. "Lacking an intrinsic nature" refers to the imaginary nature; "as spoken of in words, nor are they entirely nonexistent" refers to the existence of other-dependent nature and so forth. Not only are other-dependent, ineffable dharmas existent, but because the erroneous cognitive affective state exists in those grasped nonexistent dharmas, they are also not entirely nonexistent. Therefore, second, the treatise states that as such they are nonexistent, nor are they entirely nonexistent. The above has already clarified that what is imagined is nonexistent, whereas other-dependent nature and consummate nature exist.
