論云「依為菩提福德資糧、菩提分法後後勝進」者，當經第三、護善因事。無學菩提名為果事，今為此果，福德資糧、菩提分於彼因中後後勝進，故名護善因事，護令增也。

Regarding the treatise stating 'based on progressively advancing further and further for the sake of the provisions of merit for bodhi and the factors conducive to bodhi': this corresponds to the sūtra's third, matters concerning the causes of guarding the good. The bodhi of the stage of no-more-learning is called the matter of the fruit; now, for the sake of this fruit, the provisions of merit and the factors conducive to bodhi progressively advance further and further in that cause; therefore it is called matters concerning the causes of guarding the good, guarding them so that they increase.
