論云「彼經第三無數大劫乃至證得最上成滿菩薩住」者，何故此不言證得如來？答曰：此三劫皆在因故，不言證佛，佛三劫外故。又前明二劫文中皆有次第之言，乃云證得極喜住等；今此第三無次第之言，故不言如來地，但守自位。

Regarding the treatise's statement, "Having passed through the third incalculable great eon, up to realizing the supreme, perfectly completed bodhisattva stage": Why does it not mention realizing the Tathāgata here? The answer is: because these three eons all reside in the cause, it does not mention realizing Buddhahood; the Buddha is outside the three eons. Furthermore, the preceding passages explaining the two eons both contain the word "sequence" and speak of realizing the stage of Extreme Joy, etc.; now this third one does not contain the word "sequence", hence it does not speak of the Buddha bhūmi, but merely maintains its own position.
