Regarding the treatise's statement, "whether superior, surpassing superior, and supremely superior; whether deep, surpassing deep, and supremely deep; whether inferior, surpassing, and supremely surpassing Dharma-teachings, correct teachings, instructions, and admonitions," and so forth: one explanation is that the three phrases beginning with "supremely superior" are wisdom born of hearing, the three phrases beginning with "supremely deep" are wisdom born of reflection, and the three phrases beginning with "supremely surpassing" are wisdom born of cultivation, because among the three wisdoms each has superior, middling, and inferior. Furthermore, Dharma-teachings and correct teachings correspond to the three grades and three phrases beginning with "supremely superior"; instructions correspond to the three phrases and three grades beginning with "supremely deep"; and admonitions correspond to the three phrases and three grades of "supremely surpassing." Furthermore, among the former three wisdoms, each has the three phrases of Dharma-teachings, correct teachings, and so on, which are matched in sequence.
