「復次，依此一切種子阿賴耶」下，釋外難。謂前云雜染根本攝諸種故，如何有二種？故引經為證。「惡叉聚喻」者，即如無食子相似。

From "Furthermore, relying on this ālayavijñāna which possesses all seeds" onward, this resolves an external objection. That is to say, since it was previously stated that the fundamental root of defilement embraces all seeds, how can there be two kinds? Therefore, a sūtra is cited as proof. Regarding the "simile of the cluster of akṣa fruits": it is similar to the cluster of fruit of the non-edible plant (vibhītaka/akṣa).
