The treatise says, “Question: Here, which aspects subsume which sufferings?” That is, taking the eight sufferings as aspects, they subsume the four sufferings, matching them according to the order of the text. Calling sufferings “aspects” is because they all arise and perish; it is not a general designation. In this way, the three sufferings subsume the four sufferings; the four aspects of the truth of origin should be understood accordingly. “One should know that this is for generating the distinctions of present fruits”: these presently arising ones are not a single separate arising; furthermore, considering that the text is obscure, separate arising is rather difficult.
