Among the eighteen kinds of unfitness, regarding the three kinds of unfitness of intrinsic nature, maturation, and so forth, Candragupta says: because they are beginningless, innate seeds, they are called the unfitness of intrinsic nature. Jayasena says: this newly perfumed ripening whose substance is not the same as the predominant condition is designated unfitness, called the unfitness of intrinsic nature, maturation, and so forth. However, regarding the karmic obstacles and so on, this is discussed based on heavy obstacles. As for occurring with power or without power: previously in the Maulī Bhūmi there was no separate designation of with power or without power; those afflictions that are fully intensified and of superior grade are called 'having power'; otherwise, they are called 'lacking power'.
