In the fifth objection, regarding "Who then restrains their functionality?": who would restrain the causal power of sentient beings upon those atoms so as not to allow them to produce? It can be known through logical formulation. Regarding "If it is said that it is not due to sentient beings, then external objects would arise uselessly": "use" means "because of" or "that which is used." Being of no use to sentient beings, external objects arising not because of sentient beings is unreasonable. The logical formulation states: Your external objects should not be able to arise, because they are not caused by sentient beings, just as there is no cause for what does or does not harm, like a turtle's hair, and so forth.
