「五種教授」者：一、「教教授」，授與教法。　二、「證教授」，授與理法。　三、「次第教授」，授觀行法門。　四、「無倒教授」，授前三種，應機無亂。　五、神「變教授」，授與神通，令化眾生。

"Five kinds of instruction": 1. "Instruction in teaching": conferring the dharmas of the scriptural teaching. 2. "Instruction in realization": conferring the dharmas of principle. 3. "Instruction in sequence": conferring the methods of contemplative practice. 4. "Infallible instruction": conferring the preceding three kinds in accordance with capacity without confusion. 5. "Instruction in supernormal transformation": conferring supernormal powers to enable the conversion of sentient beings.
