「五種修觀行者」等，信菩提、涅槃為二意樂；無間殷重修習正智為第三，即聞、思慧也；無間殷重修奢摩他為第四；無間殷重修毘鉢舍那為第五。即修慧也。後三名方便具足。

"Five kinds of practitioners cultivating contemplation" and so forth: faith in bodhi and nirvāṇa constitutes the two aspirations; uninterrupted and earnest cultivation of right knowledge is the third, which is the prajñā of hearing and reflection; uninterrupted and earnest cultivation of śamatha is the fourth; uninterrupted and earnest cultivation of vipaśyanā is the fifth. These are the prajñā of cultivation. The latter three are called the endowment of expedients.
