論云「如是問已，彼若云：『爾！』次後復於四種處所，以四因緣應正尋求」，初一因緣尋求四處，於利根人更作；下三因緣尋求四處所，於鈍根人更作。　何以得知者？下發生三因緣尋求四處所中，自生起所以。論驗三乘種姓中，不言聞三乘法而雨淚等者，此且據決定性人。

The treatise says: "Having inquired thus, if he says, 'Indeed!', next one should correctly seek in the four locations by means of four causes and conditions." The initial one cause and condition seeks in the four locations, which is further performed for persons of sharp faculties; the lower three causes and conditions seek in the four locations, which are further performed for persons of dull faculties. How is this known? Below, in generating the three causes and conditions to seek in the four locations, the reason arises naturally. In the treatise's verification of the gotras of the three vehicles, it does not mention shedding tears upon hearing the Dharma of the three vehicles and so forth, because this is stated temporarily with reference to persons of determinate gotra.
