論驗行中云「若有貪行，彼聞為說巧妙言論，便發最極清淨愛樂」等者，此中意，由貪行者貪富樂，聞說佛土七寶所成淨妙言論，發最極淨信等，非外欲境名為淨妙，以不能發最極淨信故。更別以欲等行為信情欲取。

In verifying conduct, the treatise says: "If there is one of greedy conduct, when he hears expounded clever and wondrous discourse, he then generates the utmost pure love and joy," and so forth. The meaning here is that because one of greedy conduct craves wealth and pleasure, when hearing discourse on the Buddha-fields being purely and wonderfully formed of the seven treasures, he generates the utmost pure faith and so forth; it is not external objects of desire that are called purely wondrous, because they cannot generate the utmost pure faith. Further, by means of conduct such as desire, one takes up faithful sentiments and desires.
