9.69

論云「此亦獲得眾多相狀，謂證如是諦現觀故，獲得四智，乃至下具足成就眾多相狀」以來，明入見道者有十二種相狀，謂證如是諦現觀故。此二句通下十二處。「獲得四智，謂於一切若行若住諸作意中等，乃至如幻事智」，此第一、明入見道時，得四智。四智者：一、唯法智，謂在凡夫時妄計實我，今入見道除遣實我，但有於法，名唯法智；於凡夫時妄計斷常，今入見道離計斷常，即得非斷非常智，此據分別斷見，不論修斷見也；於凡夫時妄起邪見、見取、戒取，今入見道善推求故，觀見諸法此由如幻事，無如彼三見等所計。即第一相狀。

From where the treatise says, "This also acquires numerous characteristics: namely, because of realizing such direct realization of the truths, one acquires four wisdoms, up to below: fully accomplishing numerous characteristics": it clarifies that one who enters the path of seeing has twelve kinds of characteristics, namely, "because of realizing such direct realization of the truths". These two lines apply throughout the twelve items below. "Acquiring four wisdoms, namely in all acts of attention, whether walking or standing, and so forth, up to: wisdom like an illusion": this is the first, clarifying that when entering the path of seeing, one attains four wisdoms. The four wisdoms are: first, the wisdom of phenomena only, meaning that while an ordinary person, one falsely grasped a real self, but now upon entering the path of seeing, the real self is dispelled and there are only phenomena, hence it is called 'wisdom of phenomena only'; while an ordinary person, one falsely grasped annihilationism and eternalism, but now upon entering the path of seeing, one is freed from grasping annihilationism and eternalism, thereby attaining the wisdom of non-annihilation and non-eternity—this is based on conceptually differentiated views of annihilation, not discussing views severed through cultivation; while an ordinary person, one falsely gave rise to wrong views, the view of attachment to views, and the view of attachment to rules and vows, but now upon entering the path of seeing, because of skillful investigation, one observes and sees that these phenomena are like an illusion, not as grasped by those three views and so forth. This is the first characteristic.
