The Bhūmi with Remainder of Support has as its nature all contaminated and uncontaminated dharmas possessed by the aśaikṣas of the two vehicles. The Bhūmi without Remainder of Support has as its nature solely suchness for the two vehicles, because there is no remaining support. Regarding the Buddha-body's having remainder, there are earlier and later explanations—two explanations; regarding having no remainder, there are three explanations. Now, taking the correct position: the conditioned merits of the Buddha-body are subsumed under the having remainder of support; the unconditioned merits are subsumed under the without remainder of support. This is fully set forth in the treatise. Regarding the essences of the seventeen bhūmis explained herein, where they are present in the text of the treatise and the commentary, one explains them in reliance on the treatise and commentary; if the text is not explicit, taking them by reference to reasoning and texts such as the Vijñaptimātratāsiddhi is likewise without fault.
