Within supramundane purification, the text is divided into three: first, stating and listing the five gates; then, distinct explanations following that; third, concluding the purifications and the meaning of the extensive teaching. Having previously attained the worldly purification of the four wholesome roots, one is then able for the first time to enter the direct comprehension of the truths (satyābhisamaya); light arises and darkness vanishes, and obstacles are thereupon eliminated; in order to realize the supernormal knowledges, one reflects on the various joyful matters previously attained; in order to sever and eliminate obstacles, one again practices the kind of path previously attained; due to this, one is thereupon able to enter the stage of the non-learner (aśaikṣa-bhūmi) and realize the purified path and the virtues of the fruit. This is named the order of summary meanings herein.
