The Commentary states: The text corresponds to the seventh objection, the contradiction between dream and waking. The opponent asks: "If all form at the time of waking is like the objects in a dream, not separated from consciousness"—this restates the other school's position. Below begins the objection: first an analogy is raised, and below the objection is posed. "Just as upon waking from a dream, one knows it is mind-only" is the raising of the analogy; when presently cognizing, since the apprehended object is like an object in a dream, why is it that at the time of waking, regarding one's own objective form, one does not know it is consciousness-only, just as upon waking from a dream one knows it is mind-only? This is identical to the objection in fascicle four of the Mahāyānasaṃgraha.
