The Commentary states: Because the productive cause is a direct cause, as said before, within the six causes, whether actual activity or seed, whether already moistened or not yet moistened, whatever mutually acts as a direct cause is called a generative cause, and all are subsumed under the productive. Whether actual activity or seed, when moistened or unmoistened, all can produce and generate fruits of their own category. The words 'fruits of their own category' show that they are seeds and actual activities of direct cause, excluding seeds and actual activities that are not direct causes.
