The Commentary states: This refers to [the state] after the diamond-like mind, in the path of liberation, continuing to the end of future time. Below, each of these five stages will have its name explained, its distinct nature and essence set forth, and its subsumption under the three kalpas resolved; there is no need to resolve them in advance here. The Mahāyānasaṃgraha says: "Where does one awaken and enter? That is, upon those perceptions which resemble dharmas and resemble meanings," and so forth, up to the stage of engaging through resolute faith (adhimukticaryā-bhūmi), the path of seeing, the path of cultivation, the ultimate path, and so on. That [text] speaks of four stages, whereas this [text] speaks of five stages, because here the first two are combined into the stage of engaging through resolute faith; this is precisely the chapter on the stages entered in the Mahāyānasaṃgraha. Asvabhāva says: "These are the objects entered and the stages that enter them."
