離繫立量云：所說之我，隨身不定；身所有故；猶如影等。下難中應云：我應可折；執隨身故；猶如影等。不須以卷舒解隨身義。

The Nirgrantha establishes an inference, saying: 'The self under discussion varies in accordance with the body; because it belongs to the body; just like a shadow, and so forth.' In the objection below, one should say: 'The self should be subject to division; because it is held to vary in accordance with the body; just like a shadow, and so forth.' It is not necessary to explain the meaning of 'in accordance with the body' in terms of contraction and expansion.
