In general, one should establish three kinds of designation (prajñapti), meaning that one should establish one real and one designated, because suchness is truly the ultimate, as explained in the hundredth fascicle. The remaining conventional designations are either: not dependent on this other real, such as form and sensation, while being dependent on this other designation, such as a vase; or not dependent on real verbal convention (meaning all dharmas), while being dependent on designated verbal convention (meaning all dharmas). As explained in the third commentary on the Abhidharmasamuccaya-vyākhyā, the Yogācārabhūmi's explanation in its sixtieth fascicle of karma, the pathways of karma, and so forth contradicts the first fascicle of the Cheng weishi lun.
