Regarding the treatise saying, "As there is actual fire..." The original text states that within the other-dependent nature, there is that which resembles dharmas, but nothing that resembles a self. "Dharma" refers to holding its own attribute (guṇa/lakṣaṇa), which exists within the other-dependent. "Self" refers to a controller (prabhu), which does not exist within the other-dependent. Dharmas arise from distinct seeds; the self has no distinct seeds. This does not prevent it from being termed "resemblance"; there is merely the distinction between existence and non-existence, which many others do not comprehend. Differing explanations are manifold. The *Yaoji*'s discussions regarding the human class, ferocity, etc., and the cognizing of self-characteristics and common characteristics, all miss the intent. Formulating objections that lose the fundamental tenets is too tedious to recount.
