問：言四惑俱我癡、我見，如論自辨，愛有四種，慢七、九種，是何愛、慢？答：是總愛，以緣我故非餘行相，七慢之中是我慢攝，我慢恒起，非九慢類。

Question: Regarding the statement that it is accompanied by four afflictions—self-delusion (ātmamoha) and self-view (ātmadṛṣṭi) are as explained in the treatise itself; love has four kinds, and pride has seven or nine kinds—which love and pride are they? Answer: It is general love, because it takes the self as object and is not of other ākāras; among the seven kinds of pride, it is subsumed under self-pride (ātmamāna), for self-pride arises constantly, and it is not of the category of the nine prides.
