今者又解，第七闕一，有性之人起有雜故。據界而言，亦闕恒義。如生欲界，起平等智。無性之人，是此類故。又約識明，不據人故，唯第八識具四義故。

Now, another explanation is: The seventh lacks one [criterion], because among beings with gotra its arising admits confusion. In terms of realms, it also lacks the criterion of constancy, as when one born in the desire realm produces the wisdom of equality (samatājñāna). Beings without gotra are of this kind. Furthermore, it is explained in terms of consciousness, not in terms of persons, so only the eighth consciousness possesses all four criteria.
