且漸斷中十六釋者，如斷二障各三品中，分為四釋，於前釋中，但除斷煩惱已起勝進道，方斷所知。餘釋同前，故但四解。斷二品中同前除勝進，亦只四釋。又二下品別斷、上品合斷中，亦同前四解。

As for the sixteen interpretations of gradual severance: as in severing the two hindrances each divided into three grades, it is divided into four interpretations; among the preceding interpretations, it merely omits generating an advanced path after severing the afflictions before severing the cognitive [hindrance]. The remaining interpretations are the same as before, hence there are only four explanations. In severing two grades, similarly omitting the advanced path as before, there are also only four interpretations. Moreover, in the distinct severance of the two lower grades and the combined severance of the superior grades, it is likewise the same four explanations as before.
