Explanation: 'Experiencing' (ling) means taking in and checking; 'receiving' (shou) means accepting. Relying on this transformation karma, he takes in and receives the fruits of transformation, hence called 'experiencing'. Events associated with the person but not pertaining to the bodily form are called 'previous events'. Events pertaining to the assumed bodily form are called 'previous births'. 'Viśva-' and so on means 'various distinctions' here, having many virtues and skills distinct from ordinary people; it is another name for Prince Sudāna, cited as an example to explain the matter.
