釋曰：遍計體無，不名為染；令二執起，名「染於他」。約染依他，名為「自染」。由對初性不據自類而相染說，名「唯自染」；或所染法性同不別，名「唯自染」。又云：遍計所執譬如虛空，依他起性如害如怨，圓成實性譬如無盡大寶伏藏。

The commentary states: The parikalpita is devoid of substance, so it is not termed defiled; causing the two graspings to arise is called 'defiling others.' Referring to defiled paratantra, it is called 'solely defiled in itself.' Because, in contrast to the first nature, it is not spoken of in terms of its own kind mutually defiling, it is called 'solely defiled in itself'; alternatively, because the nature of the defiled dharmas is the same and not differentiated, it is called 'solely defiled in itself.' It is also said: 'The parikalpita-svabhāva is like empty space; the paratantra-svabhāva is like harm and like an enemy; the pariniṣpanna-svabhāva is like an inexhaustible, great treasure repository.'
