Examining that treatise, it says: 'Because the perfumed consciousness can grasp and fulfill future internal bodies, through this successive grasping and fulfilling, one cannot relinquish the nature of ordinary beings; because one seeks and fulfills with respect to internal bodies, one's continuity within saṃsāra is determined.' It further says: 'Furthermore, because that consciousness is eternally purified, it does not depend on other causes, but spontaneously and naturally enters into cessation. Because the continuity of this consciousness is definitively cut off, it no longer wanders through the realms of the ten directions; because it does not yearn for life or death, it is called eternal detachment from desire.'
