According to the seventh fascicle of the Mahāyānasaṃgraha: 'Furthermore, because it can extinguish bad morality and evil destinies, and because it can obtain good destinies and absorption (samādhi), it is called morality (śīla). Furthermore, because it can completely extinguish anger and enmity, and because it can well abide in peace for oneself and others, it is called patience (kṣānti). Furthermore, because it can distance all indolence and unwholesome, bad dharmas, and because it can generate immeasurable wholesome dharmas and cause them to increase, it is called vigor (vīrya). Furthermore, because it can eliminate all distraction, and because it can induce the peaceful abiding of the internal mind, it is called meditative concentration (dhyāna).' Giving and wisdom are as cited in the Commentary.
