或說唯有自證、見分及自相分，無此以外所執二取，說名「唯識」。此見、相分，不離識故。此師意說：唯第六、七，能起法執，非餘識等，至下喻中當廣分別。

Alternatively, it is said that there are only the self-verifying [part], the seeing part, and its own image part, and without the two imagined graspings apart from these, it is called 'vijñapti-mātra'. This is because these seeing and image parts are not separate from consciousness. This master's intention states: only the sixth and seventh [consciousnesses] can give rise to grasping at dharmas, not the remaining consciousnesses, etc., as will be distinguished extensively in the example below.
