「第六識望末那有二緣：謂緣末那為境故得有所緣緣，不相障礙故得有增上緣；不熏末那故無因緣，不由第六識滅故末那生，故無等無間緣。

"The sixth consciousness with respect to the manas has two conditions: namely, because it takes the manas as an object, there can be the objective support condition; because they do not obstruct each other, there can be the sovereign condition; because it does not perfume the manas, there is no causal condition; and since the manas does not arise due to the cessation of the sixth consciousness, there is no immediately antecedent condition.
