問：「相違決定與比量相違有何差別？」答：「彼宗違因，此因違宗，彼寬此狹，二類別故。由此說諸相違決定皆比量相違；有比量相違非相違決定，但宗違因無二因故。」

Question: 'What is the difference between viruddha-avyabhicārin and anumāna-bādhita (contradiction by inference)?' Answer: 'In that case, the pratijñā contradicts the hetu; in this case, the hetu contradicts the pratijñā. That is broad, while this is narrow, because the two categories are distinct. On this account, it is said that all viruddha-avyabhicārin are anumāna-bādhita; but there are anumāna-bādhita that are not viruddha-avyabhicārin, simply because the pratijñā contradicts the hetu and there are not two hetus.'
